
Chris Allendorf, Jo Daviess County state’s attorney, has announced that a 45-year-old Mundelein, Ill., man has been sentenced for an assault in Galena, a news release says.
Francisco Guinea-Delgado pleaded guilty Oct. 23 and was sentenced by Judge John Hay on felony charges of criminal sexual assault and criminal sexual abuse.
The charges stem from an incident on Aug. 17, 2024, in Galena.
Guinea-Delgado was sentenced to a total of 18 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
The term of incarceration will be followed by a minimum of three years, up to natural life, of
mandatory supervised release, formerly known as parole.
Guinea-Delgado will also be subject to the provisions of the Illinois Sex Offender Registration Act. The case was investigated by the Galena Police Department with assistance from the Mundelein Police Department, the Jo Daviess County State’s Attorney’s Office, the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit, and the Illinois State Police Crime Lab in Rockford.
