
A man who was struck by a car in rural Delmar was hospitalized Thursday, according to a news release from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.
At 12:20 p.m. Thursday, Clinton County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Highway 61 near Highway 136. The initial report indicated a person running in traffic on the highway was struck by a vehicle.
Responders found an unconscious man in the southbound lane. He was transported to Jackson County Hospital and then flown to The University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, and Delmar Fire and Rescue assisted the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol.
