Health insurance open enrollment is coming up fast, but Illinois residents may be shopping in a different market this time around.
State leaders are launching one called Get Covered Illinois. The new marketplace is a network of state-specific navigators that website professionals hope will find state specific plans with cost savings. The service also comes with new perks like alternative enrollment periods like a pregnancy enrollment period. The state will also let you get enrolled when you file your taxes in the spring.
Those on Affordable Care Act-subsidized plans are expected to see premiums go up an average 50-60% in Illinois. For more information, click here.
