A De Soto man was arrested Sunday after allegedly assaulting a De Soto woman in the home and threatening law enforcement officers.
Shaylon Mykole Brady, 22, of 613 Polk St., De Soto, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness, first-degree harassment, interference with officials acts and child endangerment.
The incident began about 8:45 p.m. Sunday at a residence in the 600 block of Polk Street, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The deputies made contact with the victim, who told the deputies Brady allegedly “pushed her into a wall three times” and “pulled her off a table she was sitting on” and “grabbed her by her hair and pulled a chunk of her hair,” according to court records.
The victim told the officers she “was holding their shared juvenile child,” a 1-year-old, “when he pulled her off the table,” according to court records.
The deputes observed on the victim “a small cut to her right hand on the palm that had some fresh blood still around it” and “a red mark and some bruising on her left ankle” as well as “a chunk of her hair” on the floor of the residence, according to court records.
Brady allegedly threatened to assault the victim again before he left the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement. Once in custody at the Dallas County Jail, Brady “became resistive while still in handcuffs” and told the deputies “he would fight us if we took the handcuffs off,” according to court records.
Brady is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Oct. 29 in Dallas County District Court.
