A 41-year-old Davenport man with a 3-year-old and drugs in his SUV was in custody Sunday after police say in Scott County Court records that he rammed three squad cars with his SUV.
Scott County Court arrest affidavits show Lontrez Nabors Sr. faces these charges after an incident early Sunday:
- three charges of assault on persons in certain occupations – use/display weapon
- one aggravated misdemeanor charge of controlled substance violation
- one felony charge of controlled substance violation
- three felony charges of second-degree criminal mischief
- two aggravated misdemeanor charges of child endangerment
- one serious misdemeanor charge of eluding.

Shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday, Davenport Police saw Nabors driving a gray GMC Yukon in the area of West 2nd and Sturdevant streets. Officers knew Nabors had several active warrants for his arrest, according to affidavits.
When officers in fully marked squad cars activated their emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop, Nabors tried to drive off, show affidavits, which say police tried an intentional vehicle contact maneuver to stop the SUV, but Nabors “intentionally drove head-on with other squad cars as (he) attempted to flee, placing the officers in fear of being struck by the vehicle,” according to affidavits.
Affidavits say officers continued attempts to stop the SUV, but Nabors again drove head-on with a marked squad car and intentionally struck it, placing another officer in fear of being seriously injured by the SUV. Nabors continued to try to flee and was blocked in by several squad cars. Nabors continued to use his SUV to strike squad cars in collisions that caused over $5,000 worth of damage to three different squad cars.
Once the SUV was disabled, Nabors was taken into custody. Officers saw a 3-year-old who was unsecured in the middle row of seats in the SUV during the incident. Affidavits say Nabors’ actions “placed the juvenile in immediate danger of serious injury.”
In affidavits, police say they saw two clear plastic bags in plain view on the floorboard under the driver’s seat. One was found to contain 5.8 grams of cocaine and the other had 5.1 grams of psilocybin mushrooms. There was also a digital scale with cocaine residue on the face plate. “These were all unsecured and able to be accessed by the unsecured juvenile in the vehicle,” affidavits show.
Nabors had $174 cash in his pockets, according to affidavits. “The amount of cocaine and the mushrooms, with residue of the narcotics in the face plate of the digital scale, combined with cash located on (Nabors) all indicate (Nabors) to be selling both the cocaine and mushrooms,” police say in affidavits.
Nabors, who was being held on a total cash-only bond of $202,000, was in custody Sunday night in Scott County Jail. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Oct. 28 in Scott County Court.
