SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — Over the summer, the popular Farmers Market in Sioux City offered everything you could want, and October 25 marked the final day of the season.
The 2025 farmers market season kicked off on the first Saturday of May and attracted approximately 2,000 visitors each Saturday, according to the organizers.
On the final day of the market, attendees celebrated the successful season by shopping for fall produce, baked goods, and handmade items, all while enjoying the autumn atmosphere. The market organizer expressed sadness that the season was coming to an end, but is already making preparations for next year.
“The farmer’s market really has become a tradition for a lot of people,” said Melissa Gritzmaker with the Sioux City Farmers Market. “Like they want to start their Saturdays down here and come to the market, grab a hot cup of coffee, grab some food, sit down, and enjoy it. It’s not just a quick stop and shop thing.”
Starting in January, the Sioux City Farmers Market will be accepting vendor applications for the 2026 season, which begins on the first Saturday of May.
