It was the second annual Party in the Park for Rock Island Parks and Rec Dept. Wednesday night.
And this year, it was held at Hodge Park on 35th St in Rock Island.
The park is celebrating a new walking path around the perimeter of the park and held a lantern walk and ribbon cutting.
There were all kinds of games and free food for the hundreds of people in attendance.
One of the highlights, just like last year, was the the kickball game between kids and Rock Island police officers. Rock Island Mayor Ashley Harris joined the kids team and made a few plays in the outfield! After an early stumble (video included above,) the mayor got things sorted out pretty quickly…
