The first annual Possom Ride is taking place this Saturday in Jones County.
It’s a side-by-side ride to honor 27-year old Dalton Camp, who died in a UTV accident near Waubeek last September. LeeAnna Boone says registration will begin at 8:30 am at her restaurant, Boondocks Emporium in Anamosa, with the ride leaving at 10 am.
The cost is $25 per driver, with each additional passenger $10. All proceeds will go toward the Dalton Camp Memorial for Young Farmers, benefitting someone who is applying for or already in an ag program.
Dalton’s mom, Lisa Camp, says it means a lot to her that they’re able to honor his memory and tie in his love of farming.
The recipient of the Dalton Camp Memorial for Young Farmers will be announced on October 12th, Dalton’s birthday.
