HINTON, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — There is a significant update regarding the Highway 75 construction project from Hinton to Merrill.
According to the Iowa Department of Transportation, contractors have completed the culvert extensions and are currently working on grading the road. Once the grading is finished, the next step will be concrete paving, scheduled to begin on September 26.
While the ongoing construction may cause some traffic delays, Iowa DOT officials emphasize the importance of patience among drivers and remind everyone to obey all traffic laws.
“I like to look at it as a short-term pain for a long-term gain,” said Sarah Tracy, the District 3 Transportation Planner for the Iowa DOT. “We like to get in, get the project done. And once we are out, we will have great road or bridge infrastructure in place.”
This project is expected to last until a winter shutdown in mid-November and then carry over into 2026.
