Today, the Sioux Honey Cooperative and Fareway Stores partnered up to donate 6,480 bottles of honey to the Food Bank of Iowa. A natural source of antioxidants and energy, honey is a healthy and easy-to-use addition to the meals that are provided for food-insecure Iowans. The timing of the donation is also significant, as this month marks both National Honey Month and Hunger Action Month. Beth Love, marketing manager for Sioux Honey Cooperative, said the honey comes from beekeepers across the country.

Love said this donation will impact many of the communities that their beekeepers live in already.
