Documents sent to Our Quad Cities News show the district has said it continues to make progress on efforts to remove mold growth from Rock Island High School.
According to the documents, elevated humidity levels in the north wing of the high school contributed to the growth on all four floors. They say that wing now meets acceptable air quality standards after cleaning and remediation.
However, several classrooms failed a second test. Those classrooms will need to be cleaned and retested early next week, documents say, but the beginning of the school year is still expected to start on Tuesday, Aug. 5.
