In an interview on July 11 on RadioIowa, Governor Kim Reynolds made the comment that “she expects the rancor from some fellow Republicans over her veto of carbon pipeline regulations will subside by the time the 2026 legislative session begins.” Well, this Republican, for one, has not forgotten, and I know of many others who also have not forgotten. In January, we will begin our 6th year of fighting to protect our private property rights at the legislature.
It is time for you, as Governor, to take the lead in protecting private property for Iowa Citizens. Be the leader of our elected officials and take a stand in supporting our Republican platform which states:
1.“We oppose government using eminent domain to take private property away from the owner for the use of another private party including carbon capture pipelines.”
2.” We oppose the current regulatory environment that encourages carbon credit trading, carbon taxes, and cap and trade. We reject the carbon capture pipeline and similar projects.”
3.“We oppose all government mandates and efforts associated with alleged man-made global warming and/or climate change.”
Governor Reynolds, it is time for you to take the lead in January and bring forth legislation to protect landowners’ rights. We, as landowners in Iowa, deserve nothing less than a NO Eminent Domain Bill for Carbon Oxide Pipelines, just like South Dakota passed.
It’s time to live up to our state motto:
” OUR LIBERTIES WE PRIZE AND OUR RIGHTS WE WILL MAINTAIN”
We, as landowners, are tired of waking up every morning wondering what the Iowa State Government is doing to us next. Don’t be “Bruce’s errand girl.” Be the Republican Governor of Iowa and protect your legacy and the citizens of Iowa.
