Illinois will get more than $200 million in federal education money that’s been withheld by the Trump administration.
Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul announced the agreement, saying the move requires the Trump administration to pay the entire balance by October 3. The administration froze the money for six programs administered by the Department of Education.
Illinois was among several states that sued the Trump administration last month on grounds that holding back the money is unconstitutional.
