A railroad crossing in Colona is undergoing repairs next week, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).
IDOT announced that, weather permitting, Cleveland Road at the BNSF Railway crossing will be closed starting on Thursday, August 7. The work zone is just east of Illinois 84.
The closure will allow the railroad to repair the crossing and the road is expected to be closed for two days. A detour will be posted.
Drivers should pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zone areas, obey the posted speed limits, avoid using mobile devices and watch for workers and equipment.
