The Black Box Theatre in downtown Moline opens “Ordinary Days” on Friday, Aug. 8, a news release says.
“Ordinary Days” is written and composed by Adam Gwon and tells the story of four young New Yorkers whose lives intersect as they search for fulfillment, happiness, love and cabs. Through a score of vibrant and memorable songs, their experiences ring startlingly true to life. “Ordinary Days” is an original musical for anyone who’s ever struggled to appreciate the simple things in a complex place. With equal doses of humor and poignancy, it celebrates how 8.3 million individual stories combine in unexpected ways to make New York City such a unique and vibrant place.
The production is directed by Shelley Cooper. Music direction and accompaniment provided by Rob Elfline. The cast features Bradley Robert Jensen, Kira Rangel, Evan Gagliardo, and Sarah Lounsberry. Kayden Micklos and Jensen Stoneking understudy and appear in the show. The stage manager is Briley Larson with assistant SM Eden Myers, recipients of an Illinois Arts Council Youth Empowerment Grant. Set and costume design is by BBT Artistic Director Lora Adams, built by Michael Kopriva and Kirsten Myers.
The show runs Aug. 8-17. Tickets are $18 and can be purchased here or at the door.
