Sioux City Fire Rescue announced on Tuesday that they won this year’s June Can Jam. Between the two departments, hundreds of canned goods were collected. Also, they were able to raise more than $1,500.

“Even though this was a competition between firefighters and police officers, the real winner was the Siouxland Soup Kitchen. The Soup Kitchen relies solely on private donations, so we encourage everyone to drop any canned or boxed goods all year round. Every can and every dollar helps feed our community,” reads a release from the fire department.
