Few details were available Saturday about a fatal crash Friday in Jackson County.
The crash happened at 4:30 p.m. on Hurtsville Road north of Maquoketa, according to an Iowa State Patrol minimal crash report.
A head-on afternoon crash
A 2007 PT Cruiser was headed north on Hurtsville Road just north of Maquoketa and “crossed the center divided line for an unknown reason,” according to the report. The PT Cruiser struck a 2024 Nissan Pathfinder head-on, the report says.
The person who was killed was transported from the scene by Jackson County Regional Ambulance. Another injured person was transported by Air Ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
