LE MARS, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — A Le Mars, Iowa, woman received a prison sentence Monday morning for the death of her two-year-old son.
Court documents indicate that a judge gave Sexlyn Tataichy, 27, 50 years in prison for the charge of child endangerment resulting in death. She has also been ordered to pay $150k in victim restitution.
This comes after Tataichy agreed to a plea deal in May, where she pled guilty to one charge and the other two were dropped.
In April 2024, police received a report of an unconscious child who was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. Officials said his death was ruled a homicide and had multiple internal injuries that were healing.
Authorities said Tataichy admitted that she would hit, flick, and pinch as punishment.
