A situation ended peacefully Tuesday night after a large police presence gathered in the area of Hickory Grove Apartments in the 4100 block of Hickory Grove Road, Davenport, about 6 p.m.
At 7 p.m., Our Quad Cities News crew saw Davenport Police officers, Scott County deputies and ambulances at the scene after a report of a possible disturbance involving someone with a gun. Officers found a man had isolated himself in a field with a gun and with a woman, according to a news release.
The woman left the field and officers “engaged in de-escalation strategies” with the man, the release says. After about 60 minutes, the man turned himself over to first responders and was provided medical treatment.
No injuries were reported. “The situation was resolved peacefully, and there is no ongoing threat to the community,” the release says. “No further updates are expected to be provided due to the nature of this incident.”
