Emergency responders, including Rock Island County deputies and an ambulance crew, are in the area of Campbell’s Island, East Moline, after calls about a person in the water.
A friend of the person in the water told Our Quad Cities News crew that his friend’s feet got taken out from under him while they were swimming and the current swept him away.
At least three boats have joined the search. At one point, crews were on the Bettendorf side, but they had left the area by 7:45 p.m.
