Davenport firefighters quickly managed a fire at a manufacturing facility yesterday, according to a news release from the Davenport Fire Department.

The Scott Emergency Communications Center (SECC) received a 911 call reporting a fire in a manufacturing facility in the 2100 block of J.M. Morris Boulevard on July 9 at about 5:11 p.m. The Davenport Fire Department’s response included six apparatus and one command vehicle and a total response of 20 fire personnel.

The first crews on the scene found light smoke coming from the northeast section of the plant. They met with building staff and entered the building and quickly found and extinguished the fire. They stayed at the scene to check for hot spots and investigate the cause of the fire.

No employees or firefighters were injured. Mid-American Energy and Medic EMS of Scott County assisted during the incident, which is still under investigation.
