Fire crews from Davenport and Bettendorf were called to a structure fire in Davenport last night.
According to a news release from the Davenport Fire Department, crews were called to the 1700 block of Christie Street for a structure fire on July 16 at about 8:44 p.m. Their response included three engines, two ladder trucks, a District Chief and a Bettendorf engine for an initial response of 25 personnel.
Fire crews arrived and found a two-story residential home with fire showing from the front of the house. They extended a hose line to the interior of the house and quickly extinguished the fire. The homeowner was outside of the house when fire crews arrived and was uninjured. The home sustained major fire and smoke damage.
No civilians or firefighters were injured in the fire. Crews were assisted on scene by Bettendorf Fire, Medic EMS of Scott County and MidAmerican. The Red Cross was called to assist the homeowner. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
