City council discusses farm animal regulations; approves farm animal permits

     The Bedford City Council held a public hearing on a budget amendment for FY26, heard an update on airport activities and discussed changes to the farm animal regulations at their regular monthly meeting on July 9.
     A public hearing on a budget amendment for FY26 was opened by Mayor Aaron Hardee. There were no comments or questions and none submitted. The hearing was closed. The council moved forward and approved Resolution 2025-15 approving amendment of FY26 budget.
     Kim Watson, airport board member, was present to give an update on the Bedford Airport. A state inspection took place recently. There were a couple of infractions that will be fixed. They will be taking down a few trees. Kim said they were going to tear down a dilapidated building. They are also going to apply for a grant to help make improvements.
