SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — The City of Sioux City has agreed to settle lawsuits filed by the city and by River City Hospitality, LLC (RCH), the former operator of the Sioux City Marina.
At a special council meeting on Monday, members voted 4-1 on the settlement agreement, giving both parties full dismissal on their claims. The resolution also allows the city to buy and take control of the marina, Jolly’s on the River, and other related property at a cost of $300,000.
RCH agreed to pay the city the annual rent of $18,000 as stated in the original ground lease.
Council members also voted 4-1 to approve a property management agreement between the city and F3 Marina for marina management services at the Sioux City Marina. The agreement begins Tuesday and ends on Jan. 31, 2028.
Sioux City Mayor Bob Scott voted no on the management agreement. Matthew Okane cast the lone no vote regarding the settlement agreement.
