A bill to expand cancer coverage for emergency workers in Iowa advanced out of a Senate subcommittee.
House Study Bill 266 would have employees like police officers and firefighters pay more into a state fund. Cities would budget more toward cancer treatment for firefighters.
The bill still needs to pass committee before the next funnel deadline.
