SPENCER, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — After a summer of flooding and destruction across Siouxland, one local foundation has now awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars in recovery grants.
On Tuesday morning, the Clay County Community Foundation announced that it has dispersed over $300,000 worth of Disaster Recovery Grants. 22 nonprofit organizations and two public entities are recipients.
Ever since the flooding, 277 donors have contributed more than $525,000 to the foundation’s Disaster Recovery Fund.
Officials from the foundation say they are overwhelmed and humbled by the generosity of their donors.
