Banner at U of Iowa vandalized hours after it was put up, YAF hosting ‘October 7: One Year Later’ event on Hamas attack of Israel

A promotional banner was vandalized less than three hours after being posted in Iowa City on Monday. Young Americans for Freedom at the University of Iowa put the banner up on campus, only for it to be vandalized shortly after.

The banner promotes an upcoming event that will take place Monday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. The event will feature Ian Haworth and is called “October 7: One Year Later – Hamas’s War on Jewish, Christian, American and Western Values.”

Haworth will discuss the impact of Hamas’s attacks, Israel’s right to defend itself and the fight against antisemitism.

The discussion aims to honor the victims of terrorism, address the rising threat of antisemitism and debunk widespread falsehoods about the nation while advocating for the release and safe return of hostages taken during the conflict.

A police report was filed regarding the vandalism.
