Two Macomb Police officers were shot Wednesday in the process of serving a warrant in the 300 block of North Normal Street near Western Illinois University, according to a news release.
Both are being treated in the hospital and on Wednesday were in critical but stable condition, the release says.
Law-enforcement remained on the scene and asked the public to avoid the area. “There is no active threat to the community at this time. The police department will provide updates in regular intervals,” the release says.
