A Perry man was arrested Friday after allegedly threatening to strangle his wife and crash his vehicle into the residence.
Dakota Wylie Armstrong, 31, of 1715 Vine St., Perry, was charged with first-degree harassment and violation of a no-contact order.
The incident began about 8:45 p.m. Friday in the 1700 block of Vine Street, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of threats and harassment.
The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Armstrong allegedly said to her, “I am going to take my hands and wrap them around your throat and choke you, and you better hope you call the cops because I am bringing all of hell with me. You’re going to need them. I am going to drive the car through the front of the house,” according to court records.
Armstrong’s alleged communications with the victim violate a no-contact order ordered Aug. 8 in Dallas County District Court.
Armstrong is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $4,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Sept. 16 in Dallas County District Court.
Armstrong was convicted of second-offense domestic abuse assault in 2023 in Dallas County District Court.
