Governor Reynolds on Friday announced the appointment of Melinda Wicks as a district associate judge in Judicial District 3B.

Wicks fills a vacancy created following the retirement of Todd Hensley. Judicial District 3B includes Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, and Ida counties.

Wicks resides in Sergeant Bluff, and currently serves as a magistrate in Woodbury County, and as a deputy county attorney in the Dakota County Attorney’s Office in the State of Nebraska. Wicks received her undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska, and her law degree from Washburn University of Law.
