Riley Gaines took to Twitter on Friday night, claiming that a male player called Blaire Fleming led his team to victory against the University of Iowa women’s volleyball team. She shared this clip of Fleming’s kill to put the first set away.
Fleming led San Jose State with 18 kills, 13 digs, a solo block and two block assists.
Gaines posted:
“Look how high he jumps. Look at the speed of the ball. Not only is this unfair, it’s dangerous.”
Iowa law requires an athletic event sponsored or sanctioned by an educational institution or organization to designate a team, sport or event as females, women or girls; males, men or boys; or mixed.
“Only female students, based on their sex as defined in the bill, may participate in any team, sport or athletic event designated as being for females, women or girls.”
Reduxx reported in April that Fleming is allegedly a biological male. Among Reduxx’s reporting:
*The mother of an opposing player said her daughter told her about rumors Fleming is a male. The mother claimed Fleming jumped higher and hit harder than any woman on the court. The mother’s daughter suffered “far more” physical injuries and strains than she had before in her volleyball career. The daughter was constantly icing and rubbing her arms after blocking shots from Fleming.
*Fleming participated in volleyball at Coastal Carolina in South Carolina. Reduxx claims Fleming “fled” to California just before South Carolina’s Save Women Sports Bill became law.
*Reduxx reported early photos posted to Fleming’s aunt’s Facebook page show Fleming was raised as a boy and only began presenting in feminine clothing in 2016.
*Reduxx reported his grandmother referred to him as her “grandson” in an early photo.
The College Fix ran with this story.
Outkick also reported on the situation. Outkick asked for confirmation or denial from San Jose State, but hadn’t heard back.
Fox News also reported on the situation, saying Blaire Fleming used to be Brayden.
