The Rock Island Arsenal has two events to mark the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on New York City and Washington, DC.
The Arsenal is hosting the 9/11 Remembrance Walk and Ceremony on Wednesday, September 11, at 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. The 2.5-mile walk will begin at 6:30 a.m. at the Memorial Field parking lot and marchers will start assembling at 6 a.m. The walk will end with participants placing flags for every person who died on that day.
The ceremony will start at 10:30 a.m. at the 9-11 Memorial and includes a speech by Col. William “Joe” Parker III, commander, U.S. Army Garrison Rock Island Arsenal.
Both events are open to the public.
