SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — Sparklight announced on Tuesday that it made a monetary donation to SafePlace through the Charitable Giving Funds.

According to a release, SafePlace was one of 26 nonprofits across 24 states to receive grants. During the company’s most recent award period, it received more than $125,000.

“SafePlace extends heartfelt gratitude to Sparklight for the generous $4,000 grant,” SafePlace Executive Director Stephanie Pickinpaugh said. “This grant enables us to provide safety, nourishment, and support to survivors of domestic violence and their children as they rebuild their lives. The partnership with Sparklight directly contributes to essential resources, fostering the healing and empowerment of domestic violence survivors.” 

The release noted that the Charitable Giving Fund awards $250,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations annually. These grants are given to organizations that are served by the Cable One family of brands, including Sparklight, Fidelity Communications, Hargray ValuNet Fiber, and Cable America.

The release mentioned that Sparklight has a history of supporting communities through donations of time and resources to food banks, animal shelters, senior and child advocacy programs, and community beautification projects.
