Sioux City Public Library offers summer reading events

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — Join the Sioux City Public Library for fun and opportunities for readers of all ages to win prizes during Summer Reading!

Summer Reading will go through July 31. Featured upcoming youth events in July:

  • Imagination Builders on Mondays, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Morningside Branch Library through July. This event is for ages 6-8.
  • Sponsored
  • Teen Crafternoon: Friendship Bracelets on Monday, July 8, 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. at the Aalfs Downtown Library. This event is offered to ages 12-18. Snacks and craft supplies will be provided.
  • LEGOs at the Library on Tuesday, July 9, 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the Aalfs Downtown Library. This event is offered to 6-11.
  • The Toddler Summer Games on Friday, July 12, from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the Aalfs Downtown Library. This event is for ages 2 and under.
  • Blank Park Zoo on Monday, July 15, 2 shows (same show both times) at 1:15 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. at the Morningside Branch Library. Everyone is welcomed to this event.
  • Smokey Bear’s 80th Birthday Party on Thursday, July 18 at Morningside Branch Library. Kids of all ages can meet Smokey
  • Teen After-Hours: Karaoke @ The Library on Friday, July 19, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Aalfs Downtown Library. This event is offered for ages 12-18.
  • Innovation Studio on Thursdays in July (except July 4 due to the holiday), 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. at the Aalfs Downtown Library. Ages 9-11 can experience hands-on exploratory learning using our STEM Maker Cart!

  • Dorothy Pecaut Owl Presentation on Wednesday, July 31, 10-11am at the Aalfs Downtown Library.
