SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) —  The American Red Cross released an update on their response to the historic flooding in Siouxland. They’re currently managing or supporting 5 shelters in northwest Iowa, located in Spencer, Rock Valley, Hawarden, Sioux City, and Correctionville.

Officials say since the flooding, there have been almost 3,000 overnight stays in those shelters.

On Monday night, they supported more than 220 people in shelters. There have been nearly 17,000 meals and more than 17,500 snacks handed out to people.

Additionally, the Red Cross handed out more than 65 hundred clean-up kits and relief supplies to those impacted by the flooding.
