An Odebolt man was seriously injured in a house fire last week.
According to the Sac County Sheriff’s Office, a 60-year-old male contacted the Sac County Communications Center at around 9:10am last Wednesday, July 3rd and informed them that his house at 1651 370th Street in Odebolt was on fire and that he was still inside the residence. A responding deputy observed the man’s foot sticking out of a sliding door on the south side of the residence. The deputy helped the man up and assisted him out of the residence prior to the arrival of the Odebolt Fire Department. The man sustained burn injuries to the upper part of his body. Highway 39 at 370th Street was shut down to provide a landing zone for a MercyOne Helicopter. The man was taken to a burn center. His condition is unknown at this time.
The State Fire Marshal was contacted to determine the origin of the fire. The Odebolt, Wall Lake, Lake View, and Kiron Fire Department’s responded to the fire.
