A Booneville man was arrested for assault Sunday after the daughter of the victim filed a report with law enforcement.
Walter Emil Bell, 50, of 28925 360th St., Booneville, was charged with second-offense domestic abuse assault.
The incident began about 11:30 a.m. Sunday in the 28900 block of 360th Street, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The deputies made contact with the victim, who told the deputies that Bell allegedly “shoved, grabbed and struck her with his hands and objects inside the residence earlier in the day and over the past couple days,” according to court records.
The deputies observed on the victim “bruises, scratches and red marks on both arms, legs and torso” and “a bump on her head from being hit with an object,” according to court records.
Bell is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing July 18 in Dallas County District Court.
Bell was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault in 2017 in Arizona.
