An Adel man was arrested Wednesday night after allegedly assaulting his wife in the home.
Jacob Eugene Day, 34, of 611 Court St., Adel, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began about 7 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of Court Street, where officers of the Adel Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Day allegedly “grabbed her by the arms and pushed her against the living room window, which cause a red mark on her upper thigh,” according to court records.
The officers observed on the victim a “red mark on the right thigh” and “two visible scratch marks on the left forearm,” which they determined to be a “fresh injury,” according to court records.
Day was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing July 12 in Dallas County District Court.
Day was convicted of assault in 2018 in Greene County District Court.
