The 2024 Ringgold County Fair
“All American Flair at the Ringgold County Fair”

This year’s fair features a combination of old favorites with new attractions and a full slate of activities to draw visitors to the fairgrounds located on the north edge of Mount Ayr.

Tuesday, July 12
At 9 a.m. the Ringgold County Fair Rodeo Queen and Princess Contest is taking place.
Conference judging of the Bucket Calves/Bucket Calves +1 will take place at the Flower Garden beginning at 11 a.m.
4-H Exhibit Building project judging will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
4-H State Fair Selection will run from 3-5 p.m. (Only Extension staff, select 4-H volunteers and judges are permitted in the Exhibit Building during this time.)
The Wishard Chapel Community Church will sponsor a free-will fish fry and gospel singing in the show arena from 5-7 p.m. All proceeds will go toward 4-H/FFA premiums.

Wednesday, July 13
Wednesday activity begins at 8 a.m. with the 4-H/FFA swine weigh-in and stalling.
4-H/FFA sheep and meat goat weigh-in follows at 9 a.m.
4-H/FFA beef weigh-in begins at 10 a.m.
The entry of Open Class exhibits will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Homestead Hall.
4-H/FFA horse, rabbits and poultry will check-in at 11 a.m. and pets at 1 p.m.
The first of the fair’s livestock shows will begin at 2 p.m. with the 4-H/FFA rabbit show.
The 4-H/FFA poultry show will follow at 3 p.m.
Parade entries will gather at 5:30 p.m. at the high school parking lot.
The parade will begin at 6 p.m. by exiting the parking lot and proceeding through the main fairgrounds gate. Entries will exit through the north gate.
The Ringgold Foundation grant presentation begins at 6:45 p.m.
Evening entertainment features the annual Ringgold County Fair queen and princess contest and Bill Riley Talent Show, beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is $5, youth 6-12 years $3, and youth 5-and-under free.

Thursday, July 14
Kicking off Thursday’s activities at 8 a.m. is the 4-H/FFA sheep show.
From 10 a.m. to noon Ag in the Classroom activities will take place at the 4-H Exhibit Building.
The 4-H/FFA goat show will get underway at 10:30 a.m.
The 4-H County Council has water activities planned from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
At 12:30 p.m. there will be a Team Jackpot Roping event.
At 3 p.m. the 4-H communications projects, including educational presentations, working exhibits and Share-the-Fun entries, will be judged.
Photos of the outstanding juniors, entries considered for state fair and state fair qualifiers will be taken at 5 p.m. in the Exhibit Building.
The Rodeo Clown Contest will begin at 6 p.m.
Mutton Bustin’ will start at 7 p.m. followed by the rodeo at 7:30 p.m. Admission for the rodeo is $10 for adults, $5 for youth ages 6-12 with kids 5-and-under admitted free.

Friday, July 15
Kicking off Friday’s activities at 8 a.m. with the 4-H/FFA swine show.
Senior games will get underway at 10 a.m. in Homestead Hall.
The 4-H/FFA horse show begins at 12 p.m.
Registration for the Kids Pedal Tractor Pull is at 1 p.m. and will begin at 1:30 p.m.
At 4 p.m. Ag Olympics will be taking place and is sponsored by the 4-H County Council in the Horse Arena.
At 8 p.m. is Lucas Beebe in the Rodeo Grandstands.
The evening’s entertainment is the Demo Derby and Lawn Mower Derby at 8 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for youth ages 6-12 with kids 5-and-under admitted free.

Saturday, July 16
Another big day of activity gets underway with the County Council pancake breakfast fund-raiser from 6 to 9 a.m.
Feeder calf entries must be on the fairgrounds by 7 a.m.
The 4-H/FFA feeder calf show will be held at 9 a.m. with calves to be released after the show.
Ag in the Classroom activities will take place at he Farm Bureau booth in Homestead Hall.
At 9:30 a.m. registration opens for the Baby Contest with competition to begin at 10 a.m. in Homestead Hall.
The 4-H/FFA Beef Showmanship show follows the Feeder Calf Show and the Breeding Beef Show follows the showmanship contest.
The Baby Contest will be in Homestead Hall at 10 a.m.
The 4-H/FFA Bucket Calf/Bucket Calf-Plus One show will be held beginning at 11:30 a.m. or immediately following the breeding beef show.
The Pee Wee Wrangler Show, where youth younger than 4-H age dress up to show their calves, will be held at 12 noon.
The 4-H/FFA Market Beef Show also gets started at 1 p.m.
Kids games will begin at 2 p.m. in Homestead Hall. Inflatables will be in operation from 1-5 p.m.
The 4-H/FFA Pet Show begins at 3:30 p.m. and the Future 4-H’er Pet Show is at 4:30 p.m.
The sign-up for the Bags Tournament will be at 6 p.m. for more information contact Jeramiah Howell.
The evening’s entertainment is the Garden Tractor, Truck, and Tractor pull beginning at 6:30 p.m. Admission for the pull is $10 for adults, $5 for youth ages 6-12 with kids 5-and-under admitted free.
The Bags Tournament starts at 7 p.m.
Tyler Folkerts will be performing in the Rodeo Grandstands beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, July 11
Activity on Sunday begins at 5 a.m. with release of all 4-H/FFA animals not available for the sale.
All 4-H exhibits will be released at 9 a.m.
The tearing down of booths in Homestead Hall will run from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Open class exhibits will be released from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Commercial Building
Check-in for entries in the 4-H Challenge Recipe contest begins at 10 a.m. at the 4-H Exhibit Building
At 10 a.m. in Homestead Hall at church service will be held.
Judging in the 4-H Recipe Challenge will begin at 10:15 a.m. in the 4-H Exhibit Building.
Entries in the 4-H Pie Baking Contest are due at the 4-H Exhibit Building by 11 a.m.
The fair will conclude with the sale lunch at 12:30 p.m. sponsored by Farm Bureau followed by the 4-H/FFA premium sale at 2 p.m.
