SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — The Woodbury County Democratic Party has announced their candidate for the 3rd District Supervisor seat.
Woodbury County Democrats announced Wednesday morning that Brian McNaughton will be running for Woodbury County Supervisor.
McNaughton has run for the position before but as a Republican.
“I initially ran for the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors because I feel so strongly about the mismanagement of the Jail and other irresponsible spending decisions of the current board. I ran as a Republican – frankly – as a matter of family history. As the campaign went on, I realized the Republican Party in which I grew up no longer existed. So I am happy to say I have joined the party of true fiscal responsibility and small government – the Democratic Party of Iowa!,” states McNaughton.
McNaughton will be facing off against Mark Nelson in a rematch later this year after losing to him in the Republican Primary.
