SLOAN, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — The WinnaVegas Casino Resort closed Tuesday morning out of an abundance of caution, the company said in a release.

With the entrance road to the resort K35/330th Street partially covered with water and expected to continue to rise, the casino closed at 10 a.m. “for the safety of our associates and guests.”

“The safety of our associates and our guests is paramount” said WinnaVegas General Manager Tom Teesdale. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the rising flood waters. Our hope is that all of Siouxland quickly recovers.”

The casino said it will “reopen when it is safe to return” on it’s social media. None of the resort’s property has been affected, and the release said the management team will monitor the situation and taken action if needed to protect the resort.
