HOLSTEIN, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — Though Holstein may be small, it’s home to a business that’s recognizable to most Siouxlanders.

John Tiefenthaler began working for what would become Tiefenthaler Quality Meats in the early 80s. Before long, he purchased the business and brought family in to help.

Jordan Bremer, John’s daughter and a partial owner of Tiefenthaler, told Iowa Media Wire 9 that her family has put in a lot of work to grow the business into what it is today. Jordan and her brother Austin plan to continue their family’s work.

“We love our customers, we love our employees we love this town,” Jordan Bremer said. “I did go to college for food science and meat science. I knew in high school I wanted to come back here. Austin went to college for welding. We both kind of knew our future was going to be here, but we picked different specialties in college to help better the business.”

Tiefenthaler now has a multitude of awards and is able to ship their iconic skinless bratwursts to all of the lower 48 U.S. states.
