Siouxland sheriffs' say barricades were moved

Two Siouxland sheriff’s offices said that barricades blocking roads were moved and then driven past.

In Sioux County, Iowa, officials said that at the bridge near Sandy Hollow, someone moved the barricaded, drove across the bridge, and left the barricades to the side. They added that the approach to the bridge is completely undermined. See images of it below.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office said that moving the barricades and driving over put not only the drive at risk, but anyone else driving on the road. The as that people not removed barricades placed in specific area or to drive through flooded areas.

In Turner County, South Dakota, the sheriff’s office said that several people moved “Road Closed” signs on 272nd Street to drive on what is remaining of the road. Photos from the sheriff’s office show about half the road being damage with a culvert washed out. They said water is still going under the roadway.

The Turner County Sheriff’s Office said the road should not be used and citations are being issued.

They offered other roads that drivers could use to get around the damaged road.
