ROCK VALLEY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — MidAmerican Energy says they’ve started to turn off natural gas services for around 90 customers, along with electric services for four others, due to rapidly developing flooding in the Rock Valley area.
The shutoff of natural gas and electricity is only a safety precaution. The National Weather Service is forecasting “major severity” for the Rock River at Rock Valley.
MidAmerican says they will let customers know about the shutoff through an automated call, along with trying to reach out to more customers who are facing the possibility of an emergency gas and/or electric service shutoff.
The company’s service technicians will be available around the clock in affected areas. They will help protect the safety of customers, employees, the public and their systems.
