NEW YORK, NEW YORK — The WNBA has released its first update on fan voting for the 2024 All-Star Game and the two names at the top of the list should come as no surprise. The Las Vegas Aces’ A’ja Wilson – who leads the league in scoring and rebounds – is in first place with 217,773 votes. Sitting just behind her is the league’s biggest draw (both on TV and in ticket sales) – Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark with 216,427 votes.
Behind Clark is her Indiana Teammate, Aliyah Boston, followed by Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty and Arike Ogunbowale from Dallas in fifth place. Fellow rookie Angel Reese is in seventh place in voting with nearly 100,000 votes fewer so far than Clark. Clark’s former-Hawkeye Kate Martin, now of the Las Vegas Aces, is in 12th place.
Fans will determine a 50% share of the final roster makeup. WNBA players and a panel of national sportswriters each make up 25% of the vote. Final rosters for the game will be announced on July 2nd. The 2024 WNBA All-star game will be played on Saturday, July 20th in Phoenix.
