SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — With an upcoming heat wave in Siouxland, staying cool in the heat will be everyone’s goal.
Technicians will be busy with the heat as air conditioning units struggle to keep up. Steve Kistner, the general manager with Kalins Indoor Comfort, told Iowa Media Wire 9 that their technicians prioritize the elderly and people with medical conditions. He shared how to keep your AC up and running during a heat wave.
“We would encourage people to make sure they’re getting their filters changed, keeping an eye on that,” Kistner said. “The other thing is through preventative maintenance, making sure their outdoor unit is clean so it can perform as efficient as possible.”
He also recommended having a technician take a look at your AC about once a year, as well as washing it with a garden hose to keep it nice and clean.
