1 killed as result of flood, Rock Valley police confirm

ORANGE CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — UPDATE (6/27/2024 @ 10:30 a.m.): The Rock Valley Police Department has confirmed that one man has died as a result of the flood.

Rock Valley Police Chief Monte Warburton told Iowa Media Wire 9 that Kyle Kreykes, 52, died in an incident caused by the flooding where the foundation of his home caved in and fell on him.

Kreykes had been declared missing before he was found late Monday night.

Funeral services for Kreykes will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Sheldon with burial taking place at East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation with family will take place starting at 10 a.m. until the funeral service.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office posted around 6:10 p.m. that Kyle Kreykes has been located.

PREVIOUS: Authorities are looking for a missing Rock Valley man.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, Kyle Kreykes, 52, was last seen on Friday, June 21. There is no vehicle information available.

The sheriff’s office asks anyone who sees him to call 911.
