HARRISON COUNTY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — “There are no evacuation orders for the Missouri Valley area.”

That is how the Harrison County EMA addressed rumors that have been circulating about an evacuation in the Missouri Valley area.

According to a Facebook post from the Harrison County EMA, the rumors are based on someone’s assessment and comparison of current vs 2019 flood levels.

The flooding that occurred in Missouri Valley in 2019 was due to a levee failure. At this time the levee is being monitored. If a failure occurs, the Alert Iowa system will be used to provide immediate information to the public.
