SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — A fund to raise money for flood recovery called the Siouxland Recovery Fund has been activated as of Sunday.

According to a release, donations are currently being accepted for flood relief through the Siouxland Recovery Fund.

The goal behind this fund is to help those in need of financial resources help meet short, intermediate, or long-term needs as recovery efforts are underway in Siouxland.

This fund will help support organizations and non-profits that are offering their assistance or aiding people with flood recovery.

Based on donations made, non-profit 501 organizations and public agencies such as units of a local city or county government, community action groups, relief agencies, churches and other faith-based organizations, clinics, schools, food banks, and more, may meet grant criteria for funding from the Siouxland Recovery Fund.

The Siouxland Recovery Fund was put together by members from the United Way, the Siouxland Community Foundation, the City, county emergency management, the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, Community Organizations Active in Disasters (COAD), and other community leaders.
