Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — The Red Cross is helping aid communities at shelters all around Siouxland.

According to a release from the Red Cross, since Friday, they have sent volunteers out to help communities all around the northwestern Iowa region.

At this time, the Red Cross said that they are assisting communities in the following locations.

  • Faith Reformed Church in Rock Valley
  • Trinity Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley
  • Faith Pentecostal Church in Spencer
  • CrossWinds Church in Spencer
  • River Valley Community School in Correctionville
  • Cherokee Washington High School in Cherokee

At these sites, the Red Cross is helping provide victims of the recent flooding with shelter, meals, snacks, comfort kits, and other immediate needs.

The Red Cross is also helping assess damage to homes in these communities in order to help provide additional support later on.

The Red Cross said they are keeping in contact with local officials in order to help meet the needs of those in need.
